Hello Hello! I’m Gamma and I’m from a world called Innovera Yakov.

What’s Innovera Yakov you ask? It’s a faraway planet in a completely different universe to earth. It’s a beautiful crystal world that turns under five moons and two brilliant suns that never set. So I find it very strange that Earth only has one sun and one moon and that your sun actually sets! I have a twin sister called Blu Tara.

You may think we’re similar but we’re not! We couldn’t be more different. She hates my boyfriend…I mean…ex-boyfriend, Krave. That boy is so handsome. Then there’s Ayana, she’s pretty cool. She’s got a scarred face, but I still find her beautiful. She thinks of herself as an outcast but in reality she really isn’t! She’s got us.

Mission: My fellow Innoveran, Ayana and I have been given the task to travel to earth, successfully infiltrate it and live among the earthlings for what they seem to call ‘summer’. We must find the secret of the seven deadly sins and see if they would be useful in Innovera Yakov for when we go on our ‘Journey’.

That’s our mission and I’m excited. Earth here we come!

Day 1 – Sin 1:

What a strange world! For having only one sun it’s pretty hot here. It really is different from Innovera Yakov. For one, the streets are so crowded! Earthlings have to walk everywhere they go or they travel in these speedy metal boxes with wheels. Back in Innovera Yakov we are able to fly. Lets just say I will never ever complain about flying for as long as I live.

Walking down a street, I noticed some earthlings lining up to some sort of machine. This made me curious – why did this machine do that had so many people queuing for it? So I lined up too. When I was second in line, I peeked to see what the earthling in front was doing. He took out a thin rectangular object and the machine swallowed it up! I looked at the man but he didn’t seem worried. He pressed some more buttons and then the machine gave the square back and spat out some strange, coloured paper. He took it and walked away.

After that, I walked into what earthlings call a ‘restaurant’. It seems this is where they eat. There are so many ‘restaurants’. Each seems to serve different types of food. They all looked delicious. I was hungry so I picked a random ‘restaurant’ that appeared to specialize in some sort of large circular shaped food called, ‘Pizza’.  A female earthling came up to me,

“Table for one?” she asked.

I didn’t know what to do so I just nodded and she directed me to a table. She handed me this plastic paper that appeared to be a list of food and drinks. There was a young earthling couple that looked about my age sat at the table next to me. I could tell they were a couple since they were holding hands.

The male earthling had a gift for the female earthling. She smiled and started to open it. It was a blue box. She opened the box and inside was a sparkling necklace. It shimmered and sparkled. It reminded me of the crystals back in Innovera Yakov.

“It’s beautiful,” she said.

“I picked it out just for you,” he said.

Then the female earthling’s face dropped. She frowned.

“Is that it? Only one present?”

The male earthling shifted in his chair.

“It was expensive,”

“So only one then? This is actually it, no more presents? I can’t believe this.”

The female earthling looked away.

I frowned. This “present giving” was clearly a treasured custom on Earth, though the male looked like he went wrong somewhere along the way! What was it that had the girl so unsatisfied with the one present? I will need to investigate these strange Earth customs further!
